Mattei Desiccant Air Dryers
Mattei Desiccant Air Dryers use the adsorption method to remove moisture from compressed air. Nominal pressure dewpoints reach -40°F (-40°C) by directing the flow of saturated compressed air over a bed of desiccant.
Mattei MPD Series Series heatless desiccant dryers use about 15% of the process purge air stream capacity to strip the moisture off of the offline desiccant bed then, exhausting the water vapor to ambient. Mattei MHD Series heated dryers uses an external heater to pre-heat the process purge air stream and uses about 7% of rated capacity to regenerate the offline bed. MBD Series blower purge dryers use an external heater to heat ambient air for the purge air stream from an external low pressure blower to evacuate the moisture from the offline bed, then, uses about 2% of rated capacity to cool the bed down once regenerated.
